Classes are grouped primarily by age (based on birth month) to match developmental stages. Instructors provide progressions and challenges within each class, so children are encouraged at their own level.
Children work on:Balance and coordination
- Strength and flexibility
- Body control and spatial awareness
- Basic gymnastics skills on bars, beams, floor, and trampolines
- Listening skills, focus, and following directions
- Confidence and independence
Not at all. This class is perfect for beginners and first-time gym kids.
That’s very common at this age. Instructors are experienced in helping children feel comfortable and confident. Most children adjust quickly as they become familiar with the class routine.
Parents can be reassured that their child is always supervised by certified, trained coaches, even though they are not physically on the floor.
Yes. Classes are led by trained instructors in a padded gymnastics space, and parents stay with their child the entire time.
If a child is significantly advanced, placement options can be discussed.
Improvement shows in many ways, including increased confidence, better balance, stronger movements, improved coordination, and greater comfort with equipment and class routines. Outside the gym, parents often notice their child moving with more control, climbing and jumping more confidently at playgrounds, falling and getting back up more easily, sitting and listening for longer periods, and showing greater willingness to try new physical activities. Instructors track progress in class and introduce new challenges as skills develop.
Preschool Gymnastics is the first class where children participate without a parent on the floor. Parents watch the class live on large screen monitors around the gym. This helps children focus on their instructor and build independence. It’s normal for some children to take a little time to adjust, and coaches are experienced in supporting them through this transition.
Comfortable athletic clothing is recommended. Bare feet are best for safety and proper movement.
Gymnastics builds foundational movement skills that support success in all sports. Children also learn class structure, focus, and confidence, making it a strong stepping stone into advanced gymnastics or other athletic programs.

No experience is required. Many participants are complete beginners, while others are returning after time away. Classes are structured to support all levels.
Not at all. Gymnastics can be started at any age. The class is designed for adults and focuses on safe, age-appropriate progressions.
Yes. Classes are intentionally structured with safety as the top priority. We use clear progressions, appropriate equipment, and careful coaching to ensure you only work on skills you’re ready for.
For adults new to gymnastics?
this means starting with foundational positions, shapes, strength work, and basic drills before attempting more complex skills. We break movements down into smaller components and build them step-by-step. Coaches assess readiness based on control, strength, and technique, not enthusiasm alone.
For adults returning to gymnastics?
safety often means something different... managing expectations. Even if you previously competed or trained advanced skills, we do not assume your body is ready to resume them immediately. We rebuild through drills and conditioning to restore strength and spatial awareness before progressing. This dramatically reduces injury risk and helps skills come back more consistently.
We use equipment strategically:
A significant portion of class focuses on strength, mobility, and technique — which are essential for injury prevention at any level.
You are always encouraged to move at your own pace. There is no pressure to attempt anything you’re not comfortable with, and opting out of a skill is completely okay.
Participants are grouped into beginner and advanced groups within each training stream. No formal evaluation is required. The recommended pre-requisites for Adult Advanced are:
Our flexible package allows you to book up to 48 hours before class starts. You have the option to buy a single class or a 3-pack or 10-pack class package for a discounted price per class.
The ratio is 8 athletes to 1 coach.
Please let the coach know before class about any past injuries, surgeries, chronic pain, or movement limitations. Many adults, both beginners and former gymnasts, come to class with previous injuries, stiffness, or areas that feel different than they used to. That’s completely normal.
For adults who are brand new to gymnastics, it’s common to worry about flexibility, wrist strength, upside-down skills, or “not being in gymnastics shape.” We meet you at your current level. Skills are scaled appropriately, and you’ll build strength and mobility gradually. There is no expectation that you can move like a teenager or a competitive athlete.
For adults who trained when they were younger (even at a high competitive level), your body may not respond the same way it once did. Former gymnasts sometimes try to perform skills they used to have, even if their body isn’t ready for them yet. We strongly encourage rebuilding through progressions rather than jumping back to previous difficulty levels. Modifications can help you regain skills safely, or adjust them to suit your current mobility and strength.
Our adult classes are highly adaptable. We can:
You will never be required to push through pain. If something doesn’t feel right, we adjust. The goal is long-term progress and enjoyment. Your safety and comfort come first. We work with your body as it is today.
It can be both. Some people attend primarily for a fun workout, while others focus on learning or refining specific skills. You can choose what fits your goals.
No. You’re encouraged to work within your comfort level. Trying new things is supported, but never forced.
Yes. Participants are encouraged to share personal goals, and coaches will help guide safe progressions toward those goals.
Comfortable athletic clothing that allows full movement. Bare feet are recommended; grips or wrist supports are optional.
This depends on availability and scheduling, but many participants explore both streams over time.

Balanced Competitive
Flourish is Mokara’s competitive pathway designed for long-term enjoyment, steady progress, and the team experience—without requiring the full time and intensity of High Performance.
Athletes train with structure and purpose, working on strong fundamentals, strength, flexibility, and skill development across all events, while building confidence, consistency, and performance readiness.
Flourish athletes are part of Mokara’s competitive community: they bond with teammates, learn what it means to train toward goals, and have the optional opportunity to participate in local competitions when ready. This pathway is perfect for athletes who want to keep growing in gymnastics, feel proud of performing, and stay connected to the sport in a way that fits their lifestyle.

Levels 1 - 3
Developmental Team (Levels 1–3) is Mokara’s foundation programme for future competitive success. Training focuses on exceptional basics across all events, with strong emphasis on body shapes, landing mechanics, strength and flexibility development, spatial awareness, and safe progressions for tumbling and event fundamentals. Gymnasts will participate in in-house competitions.
Athletes learn how to train with purpose—following structured stations, taking corrections, building consistency, and developing the mindset needed for competition later. The goal is not simply to collect skills, but to build the physical and technical foundation that makes higher levels safer, stronger, and more sustainable.
Levels 4 - Elite
High Performance at Mokara is built on the belief that there is no one-size-fits-all athlete. While a strong foundation is non-negotiable, skill selection and competitive strategy are individualized—designed to help each athlete thrive by capitalizing on strengths while systematically addressing weaknesses and physical needs. Gymnasts will participate in competitions locally (and internationally, where applicable).
Training includes high-level technical progressions, event-specific planning, and performance preparation that develops athletes who can compete with confidence. The long-term aim is to support athletes toward their highest potential—whether that means national team pathways, college gymnastics, or building a standout competitive resume that supports future goals.
.webp)

For families outside the U.S., college gymnastics recruitment can feel unclear—not because it’s impossible, but because athletes often lack visibility, guidance, and an understanding of the standard required. Mokara brings both structure and the training to match it.
With years of experience in U.S. gymnastics systems, we guide families through a step-by-step pathway to make athletes genuinely college-ready: strong fundamentals, clean execution, competitive routines, and professional presentation. Our team has supported athletes to placements at highly selective universities and programs—including Stanford, Ivy League schools (Yale, Brown, Cornell, UPenn), and top NCAA programs across multiple divisions.

For gymnasts aiming for the highest level, the International Elite pathway prepares athletes for national representation and major competitions—including regional/continental games, world championships, and the Olympics. With guidance from coaches like Cleo Washington, who has led U.S. national team athletes and developed gymnasts who went on to compete successfully on the world stage, Mokara provides the training, technical expertise, and strategic support required to reach elite international standards.
This pathway is for athletes with big ambitions—and at Mokara, we provide the coaching, environment, and guidance to help make those ambitions a reality.
Coachability, consistency, effort, focus, and a positive attitude—along with physical readiness and strong foundational movement.
Competitive placement is based primarily on readiness and ability, with age considered to ensure appropriate pacing and group dynamics.
Yes. Pathways are designed to be flexible as athletes grow, goals change, and life seasons shift. Movement is guided by coach recommendation, readiness, physical preparation, and what best supports the athlete’s long-term success and wellbeing.
Athletes are typically identified through recreational progression or evaluation. Invitation is based on skill readiness, coachability, physical preparedness, and consistency.
Mokara prioritizes long-term athlete development. Training emphasizes strong basics, safe progressions, strength and mobility work, and smart workload management. Coaches monitor readiness and adjust training when needed. When something isn’t safe or consistent, we scale back, rebuild the foundation, and progress again the right way.
Athletes transferring from other programmes can be evaluated for appropriate placement to ensure they’re challenged safely and set up for success.
Progression is based on mastery, consistency, physical preparation, confidence, and coach recommendation—not speed.
Competition opportunities depend on readiness, skill level, safety, and event requirements. Our priority is that athletes compete what is safe, confident, and well-prepared.
Competition plans vary by pathway and level. Some athletes compete locally, while others may pursue higher-level opportunities. The meet plan is set intentionally based on athlete readiness and programme goals.
Our 20,000 sqft training space is purpose-built for every child’s safety, confidence, and progress.
